One of the key projects receiving funding is V-Lab Ltd, which has been awarded £165,006 to develop AI-powered software for training construction workers. The system will provide immersive, scenario-based virtual simulations of real construction sites, helping to efficiently train workers on risk assessments and safety protocols. This investment aims to ensure the UK has a skilled workforce to deliver the essential infrastructure the country needs.

Optimizing Healthcare and Logistical Efficiencies

The government's support extends to projects that will improve the efficiency of prescription deliveries and streamline the maintenance and inspection of the UK's rail infrastructure. Nottingham-based Anteam will work alongside retailers and the NHS to use AI algorithms to match delivery needs with existing journeys, unlocking untapped capacity, reducing emissions, and enhancing the patient experience. Meanwhile, Hack Partners will lead the development of an autonomous system to monitor, manage, and identify defects in rail infrastructure, representing a significant step forward in improving the safety and efficiency of the railway network.

Cambridge-based Monumo, for example, has been awarded £750,152 to develop a 3D Generative-AI Tool to improve the design of motors for electric vehicles, with the potential to enhance sustainability in sectors such as commercial transportation, flight, and power generation.

In the logistics sector, Robok Limited is working on an AI-powered tool called SeeGul, which will monitor efficiency, improve resource allocation, and identify productivity bottlenecks for businesses operating warehouses and storage facilities. Additionally, Kelp Technologies is collaborating with fashion retailers Depop and Selfridges to develop real-time pricing and market trend analysis for the second-hand clothing market, helping to reduce waste and greenhouse emissions.
